Switch to non-GMO last 4 weeks of life?

i will be switching to non-GMO feed for the last 4 weeks of my freedom ranger's stay on my farm. how would that affect the meat? how would it affect the birds? i'm more inclined to go non-GMO in the future, since it seems it's a bigger issue to people in my geographic area. thoughts? advice?

I have read a few articles that said animals that eat GMOs have residual(parts of the GMO dna) in their muscles (meat). I could link to these if you want to read them.

I've noticed that the GMO feed here smells better than conventional - more like it came from a farm not a factory. That is probably due more to freshness and the fact that it is not processed in huge quantities. Still, it would not surprise me to find the non gmo smells and tastes better and that the flavour is reflected in the meat and birds... and eggs.

As the previous post suggests there are also health concerns with gmo.

I also noticed that our local market has a growing demand for non-gmo and organic products. I made the switch for health reasons - first to non-gmo then to organic. My customers are happy to pay the additional cost (really) and I feel better about what I'm feeding my family. My customers are thrilled by the taste but again many variables - I'm convinced that the fermented feed has a role in that.

i'd like to read the articles, thank you. even though i'd be switching half way through the game, i'm thinking it would still be better than continuing another 4 weeks of grower feed (which i've read has the "supplements" to prevent cocci). it all gets pretty confusing trying to sort feed issues out, so we may continue to raise cornishX next year and use the non-GMO feed. balance $$ of feed with ## of weeks (?).

(o I remember one other tidbit~ they said that even the animals that were close enough to breath the grain dust of GMOs also showed this in their muscles~and the control group that was no where near the GMOs did not have any show up in their muscles)

I think I read that it does diminish after they stop eating it but do not know how long or how much.

it wont affect the meat and the birds wont care. Do what you want. How long does it take the GMO dna to leave the muscle tissue?
