You want to have at least 16% protien and I'd go higher if you're feeding a lot of scratch. There should be a tag on the feed bag that will tell you how much protien, calcium, etc. the feed contains.

I will have to look closer. I checked this am when
I watered them, and the bag was too heavy for me to lift. It is a red bag, nuterna, says layer food for chickens. Will check further. I do give to much scratch. I through some on the ground every day, for scratching, but therm do not always eat all of it.
