Switching Feed - LOCAL - Thoughts On This Ingredient List?

I think it looks good too. Fish meal provides good amino acids. One big difference between local mills and corporate national brands is in the grade/type of corn and soybean they use. This mill lists just corn and roasted soybeans, which are the whole form of the ingredients-excellent. National brands often use corn soybean fractions-ground corn, corn distillate/corn steep liquor(byproduct of making ethanol, like a LOT of feed ingredients), unhulled soybean meal, etc. So people see corn/soybean on the label and they think the nutritional qualities of the food are the same, but they are not. Ground grains are usually less pure and less fresh as well, and substituting whole grains for these grain products is how corporations maintain feed prices during an inflationary period while making record profits.
