Switching from crumbles to pellets???

I switched to pellets a couple weeks ago due to suspected dust issues causing coughs in my ducks.

I definitely noticed waaaay less waste on the ground as well as less dropped feed in the water buckets.

I use a set up like @DuckyDonna with a windowed bucket with a lid.

since I have both boys and girls I use both the crumbles and pellets in my buckets but I've noticed that the only thing on the ground are the crumbles, never any pellets.

Our TSC actually had the Purina duck pellets when we stopped this week, only the 5lb bags but our ducks love it. It does seem like it will be way less messy, a lot of the crumbles end up in their water bowl.
All the reviews online had other duck owners asking for bigger bags so I left one too, you never know they may be listening

don't you just love the buckets? I saw a youtube video from some guy in Australia that used them ("self-sufficient me" was his name) and they have worked perfectly for me. Free too! I've got 3 and when one gets grungy I just clean it up and dry it really good and rotate it in when I need to.

hey, I know they have the 50lb bag of layena pellets. Is that what you are talking about? I have too many ducks for a 5lb bag of anything!

I think they just started stocking it, we've just been giving them a little bowl each day along with their crumbles.
Don't know why there arent bigger bags...I think even we would go through a bag a week even with just the 3 ducks.

It worked for me. $5.99 for 5lb which works out to be about $60 for a 50lb bag. I'd need to sell a lot more eggs!

Yes I have used their water fowl pellets plenty and my guys love them. My Southern States near me just doesn't have it all of the time. I was told if you ordered the big bag from TSC you can choose to pick up at store. They will have it delivered. I have one TSC that carries the big bag and one that only carries the small bag of Purina duck pellets.

I will warn you that they are shaped different from Southern States and at first the ducks were confused but they quickly figured it out. You know how much these buggers like change, right?
