Switching to cup waterers?

I had a regular waterer with the water supply and tray but was getting sick of cleaning up the water spills. I just switched to cup waterers attached to a bucket. Initally the chickens were biting the cups because they were curious. However, I've not yet seen one drinking from the waterer. Do you have to train them to drink from the cups or do they usually get the hang of it?

The will get it, Just hit the lever and put some water in the cup to get them started. I started out with cup waterer and now switched to the horizontal nipple style (better for my winter set up) Another learning curve..... But they got it.

Set it up and remove all other sources of water and sit down and watch. Usually, in less than an hour you can be confident they are using it. And if you only see 2 or 3 using it correctly your good to go, the others will monkey see monkey do.

Good luck
