Swolen eye lid with bubbles

For 1 month, I have been trying to take care of my young porcelaine d'Uccle. No symptoms other than haze in the eye and swollen eyelid. I tried to treat her with eye antibiotics, tylan (in the beak and by injection), Neo-Chlor, then Lincomix. Nothing works.

I know I have Marek and ILT in my coop. Maybe my problem is caused by one of these viruses, but is there something else I could try? She eats very well, she is vigorous, no breathing issue. Only her eye is a problem.

Sorry about your hen. It looks like it conjunctivitis (pinkeye) with sinus infection. You can try to remove any pus from around the eye, and use antibiotic ointment in the eye twice a day after cleaning it. Enrofloxacin is a good antibiotic that can treat difficult bacteria including mycoplasma (MG) and E.coli which is a common secondary infection. It is banned for chickens due to preventing antibiotic resistance, but some vets still prescribe it for difficult infections. Here is a link for it and dosage is 0.25 ml for a 5 pound chicken given orally twice a day for 5 days.

Yes, it is spread by carriers and some wild birds. The disease is never cured, but antibiotics can help treat symptoms. Here is some reading about it:

Eggcessive, I did like you suggested and I was able to remove easily pus from the eye. I treated the eye with polysporin and will try to get enrofloxacin tomorrow. Thanks again!

Glad that you got something out of the eye. The enrofloxacin has to be ordered online and might take a few days to get, unless you can get something from a vet. Let us know how she gets along.
