swollen breast!?

My Buff Orpington is 21 weeks old she has not laid an egg yet , and she has the same problem , her right side is swollen ( yes she does look like she had breast implants ) has been for a couple of days now , I'm worried about her , what can I do ? I'm looking for a Vet that takes care of Chickens
Please help ASAP !

Yes she is , she is still very loving too , I been looking at her poop and it looks like the other hens , and she is eating and drinking ,she does her dusy bath too , I don't think she is in any pain or discomfort , when I hold her I massage it and she don't seem to mind

I'm certainly no expert, but I don't think your bird has a problem at all, just a healthy appetite. I don't know where you'd find an avian veterinarian though. Fermented seed is a top way to keep your birds healthy if you're not already on that caper, and it reduces food wastage as well as pen stink.

We brought a Buff Orpington home a month or so ago and were blown away by her appetite. Our Silkie was blown away by how fluffy and cuddly she is, especially this last month during the Melbourne Winter. They've become best friends and sometimes we'll even find Tanikwa waddling up to Bluey in the backyard and nestling right into her fluff just for a cuddle.

I have a an 18 week old Plymouth Rock hen with this big flabby breast syndrome. It gets bigger at times and smaller at others but always noticible. She appears fine otherwise. She gets the same feed as everyone else - chick crumbles. Has been three weeks and none of her hen friends have shown any similar traits. Will she always be prone to this condition or will she out grow it?

As far as gurgling sounds, I would check the crop to make sure that it is not full and possibly making a rattling sound. Sour crop may cause vomiting of bad smelling liquid. Most times though a gurgle is from a respiratory disease such as infectious bronchitis, mycoplasma (MG,) coryza, or ILT which are the most common ones. Oh, thank goodness. I'm here because I noticed the same thing with my favorite chicken this evening. I was so scared it was from a bug bite or something.

Thank goodness for forums like this! New duck and chicken mom and I had no idea what this could have meant. Question though, how long will it stay full/how often does it clear itself?

I’m so thankful for this thread My brand new Blue Austrolorp has massive baby boobs and I was worried she had an infection. But she was previously at a feed store with a careful and probably gourged herself in her new pen where she doesn’t have to fight for position.
