He’s no longer on meds (we gave him 3 doses of amoxicillin about 12 hours apart until he seemed well on his way to recovery). It was never official or prescribed, just suggested by the vet over the phone. I can try getting some video but it’s not consistent so it’s difficult.
how many days did the vet say to give it?

I saw that, just wanted to know if the vet said "give three days", that was not made clear.
My wife was speaking to the vet when amoxicillin was suggested. So I don’t know if they said anything but my wife didn’t tell me how long specifically.

I read through that article, thank you. (At least the part about how long to give antibiotics...minimum 7 days and always 3 days beyond when the symptoms are gone).

I don’t know if I have sufficient quantities of amoxicillin to finish that dosage. I’ll speak with my wife but I anticipate another chat with the vet and possibly a prescription (I presume amoxicillin is via prescription only?).

Side note, I haven’t noticed that “snorting” sound since I mentioned it earlier in this thread. Just mentioning it for reference. Not saying it’s no longer there or irrelevant, etc.

None of the dosing info there is for birds, only dogs, so don't use any of it. From what I have read, you give amoxicillin for around seven days, but I would speak to the vet and let him know your situation before stopping. You can get Fish Amxocillin from your local pet store/feed store.

The dose for that would be 125mg/kg every 12 hours ( 57mg per pound).
Thank you. What might that be in millilitres? The amoxicillin we have is a liquid. I’ve been giving him 1ml every 12 hours last week and stopped when he started to improve. But last night I started again because he hasn’t continued to get better (the swollen lump on his face is no longer hard like when I first started giving hm amoxicillin but it’s still there, about the size of a marble and his breathing is sometimes wet/wheezy. Otherwise, he is acting normally.)
