Swollen cheek

I have 4 turkeys. 2 Bourbon reds, 2 Chocolates. 1 chocolate developed a swollen cheek 2 months ago. The 2nd choc. developed same several weeks later. 1st Choc responded to Tetracycline in drinking water and now looks normal. 2nd choc did not respond and swelling has grown larger than a large grape. Otherwise, all run, jump, eat, etc. What do I do?

It sounds like a respiratory disease that has built up resistance to tetracycline. Try Tylan 50 or Tylan powder for water. Erythromycin will also work. Mycoplasma and coryza are some of the common respiratory diseases. Here is a link: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ps044

That swollen area is most likely filled with hard pus. It needs to be removed. You will need to make an incision to remove it.
