My friend has a pair of Blue Slate turkeys that he bought this spring. The hen has something wrong with one eye now. It swells shut and stays that way for several days and she looks miserable. Then for a day or so she can open it and the swelling goes down. Then the eye closes again and swelling starts all over. It's has done this a couple times now. He said he thinks she is losing the sight in the eye. He said there is no drainage or smell. She is his daughter's hen and he's afraid of losing her. What to do? Should she be put on some kind of medication? There are no vets around here that look at birds at all. She appears fine otherwise.
