Swollen eyes following ringworm

Well still no improvement, I couldn’t get terramycin drops or ointment, but I did get powder so I have been using that twice a day for 4 days and cleaning as best I can each time- one eye is still swollen shut and the other is puffy. I’m going to take him back to the vet on Monday, I was waiting on some oxymav to see if that helped but my post has been delayed apparently, and I don’t want to put it off any longer.
He is still eating, crowing, and doing what roosters do, no sign of any other infection.

So in spite of trying everything we can think of, my rooster still looks like this.

It has got worse if anything. Also, he has been in isolation all this time and still has a very red bald patch on his wing.

The vet says there is nothing more he can do, and the next step would be travelling for hours and paying $$$ which we can’t afford. We have already spent hundreds on trying to cure whatever this is.

He appeared to have only a small amount of fungal infectionunder the ultraviolet light, but he has had 3 weeks of anti fungal oral meds anyway just in case. He has also been on two different abs, painkillers, and an antihistamine for that time. Scrapings have shown some fungal infection, blood tests nothing.
I just don’t know what to do, he is losing condition, stuck inside on his own, and almost blind now from the swelling. He also keeps dropping his head down now as if falling asleep and then jolts awake again.

Does anyone recognise what this could be? I feel I am being cruel keeping him alive now 😭

You might want to try applying one of the medications for athlete's foot, like Lotrimin, or a vaginal cream for yeast infection, like Monastat to the affected area as well. Both are pretty good antifungals. Be careful not to get it in his eyes.

initially treated it with daktarin as the vet told me, but it didn’t really fully clear up
His eye then got worse and closed up. I changed to a newer athletes foot treatment and this seemed to really get the ringworm under control, although still no sign of feather regrowth on his wing.

I'm not sure what that may be then. You have used Daktarin(Miconazole) and another athlete's foot treatment. He's had 3 weeks of anti-fungal oral meds too from the vet - so I would lean toward this not being Favus.
Maybe skin cancer?
Was the vet able to tell if there were any parasites like Scaly Face mites or Depluming mites?

Apparently not- I assume this would show up in the skin scraping? I do have insect liquidator, perhaps I will treat him anyway.
Vet is leaning towards a neurological condition as he also staggers a bit (I assumed from limited eyesight, but he does seem to have a kind of tremor in his legs)

Thinking out loud, I wonder if it's Cutaneous form of Marek's since you mention neurological symptoms.

I didn’t even know this was possible! Is it contagious? I am not sure about the neuro symptoms- he has always laid down to eat and he was very scared at the vet, but it is possible

Marek's disease is a virus, so it is contagious. Some birds are affected while others may never show symptoms whatsoever.

You can try giving vitamin therapy for the neurological symptoms to see if they make a difference. 400IU Vitamin E and 1/2 tablet B-Complex daily. See if he will eat a little egg to help with the uptake of E.

Okay, I will do that- I have been giving him multivitamins throughout in his water (a poultry one, as prescribed) and I always feed mine scrambled egg once a week- he has been eating fine, in fact he doesn’t really seem unwell if you take into account his poor vision!Ive treated him with the insect liquidator (permethrin, piperanyl butoxide, methoprene) just in case
Do I give human vits crushed in feed? Poor boy is fed up with me shoving medication laden cream cheese/pate/cat food down his throat! The girls would happily eat it but he is having none of it!

Oh, no other birds with symptoms- when he first got the ?favus it was winter here and a couple of the girls also had similar spots on their combs, theirs quickly cleared up and his just grew and grew- vet seems to think the former is a normal response, that it is self limiting. Hence feeling there is something underlying which is making him vulnerable to whatever it is taking hold.
I know favus can look a bit like fowl pox but this was definitely white/grey and in larger areas, not dark spots.
