swollen eyes + weird noise when drinking

My hens eyes are swollen shut. I thought they were pusy but a white film came off in one piece off each eye, both had a little blood mixed in.

She is not eating but has been taking sips of pedialyte, but only when coaxed. The first few times she swallowed I heard some weird noise that sounds like someone's stomache growling. This noise has stopped.

Her crop was empty when she was brought in. It has some fluid it in now, about the size of a grape. I smell no odor near her mouth.

She has gone to the bathroom several times, each time it is mostly white.

I have tried to get her to eat pellets, oats, baby food, yogurt, applesauce & celery. She's not interested in any of it.

I dusted her last night & have her under a light.

Just picked up some tetracycline. Is there anything else I should try first or in conjunction with it? Or maybe it skip it altogether?

I would suggest you clean the eyes well with sterile saline, and apply a small ribbon of Terramycin ointment to her eye. You can buy that at the feed store, or other farm supply store.

Thanks. But in all honesty her eyes are the least of my worries.

I only mentioned them because I thought it might help someone to identify whatever ailment she has. That is, of course, if the two are related.

She's thin & all she's done is sleep.

Any clues on what this might be so I know what to treat with her with?
