Our year old Australorp's face is swollen.
It isn't that bad, but it certainly is weird.
She is eating and drinking fine. Infact she is drinking a lot. That maybe because the temperature here today was 111 F, so naturally her, and all the other hens, give very watery poo. Some are almost clear.

We are giving them dosage for coccidiosis and that is the only change in their diet. We are also getting weird eggs and a few shell less eggs twice or thrice a week. My hens aren't that young. They range from 9-13 months.

I have checked them multiple times for lice/mites, but I seemed to fine none. Many symptoms of all the hens points towards mites but I just haven't come across them yet. I gave her a bath 15 days ago with baby shampoo because she had poo stuck on her.

When I give everyone treats, she seems to be standing behind and eating the scrapes but she is high in pecking order. She is the oldest hen I have. She is also the favorite of the roo and he seems to attack her when she eats the treats which I give them, so maybe she is afraid now?
Because she is the oldest, she has lost a lot of feathers from the back of her head and above her tail. The rooster is really aggressive.

Any idea on why she is swollen? The last picture is her normal head.

Thank you for replying!

The hen who had the pox is now fine. I mean she was acting fine even before. But her pox has disappeared. I couldn't see any pox on the hen in this thread.
She is also looking pale. But she is otherwise active. The heat over here is a lot.

Feather loss on the back is likely from picking and/or mating. Same with the loss on the back of her head.
I'm not sure why the face is swollen a little.

She was swollen a few back as well but now it seems to have increased a little. Their crowns are somewhat flaky so I apply vaseline on them once a week on the hens who are comfy with me. I will do some changes around their coop to see if she was allergic to something.

She was feeling very down today. So mucj so that when it was their time to free range, she was hiding inside the coop. I had to bring her out myself while the others trampled over each other to see who would go out in the open first.

She was only interested in eating yogurt and nothinh else. Her crop is fillef with water. Last i know, she gave an egb this week around Tuesday because that was when I saw her laying. She may, she may not have layed afterwards. Her droppings are really watery but the other hens are also having watery, but not bubbly, droppings. My guess is mainly due to the heat or worms.

I plan to deworm everyone tomorrow. I gave them preventive dosage of coccidiosis a few days back.

I am currently keeping her inside in our Chicken Care Unit with electrolytic water, their usual feed and an egg, incase she wants to lay tomorrow.

I would go ahead and give a full course of Coccidiosis treatment and just de-worm her as well.
Make sure her crop is emptying overnight. If it's not then I would begin treating those symptoms as well.

Her crop was emptying just find. As soon as she heard the roo crow at 5 in the morning, she started making noise to send her back. She was rather energetic and eager to go back.

After letting her go back to her friends, I saw a soft shell in our chicken care unit. She may have been feeling down because of that. I am making sure that all of my flock eats crushed baked eggshells.
