My 6 month old Pekin bantam has a swollen head. Can you please give me some advice about what to do?
The vet is asking a fee of £140 and is likely not be able to help. She doesn’t seem to be in pain.

Welcome to the site, sorry it is under these circumstances. Are there any cuts or wounds near the swelling or anywhere on her head? How old is she? Sorry if I paid more attention, I would’ve seen you said 6 months.

She’s 6 months old. No cuts or wounds that I can see.
The swelling has grown since this photo was taken 6 hours ago and is warm to touch.

Is she getting lethargic? Does the swelling feel hard or squishy? And is it just her comb or her head too?

She is ok. Eating and running around as usual

We’ve had a bad day! My attention has been on her sister, a lovely frizzle, who badly sprained her leg. The fox took her this morning.

Oh goodness I’m so sorry. When it rains it pours, doesn’t it? :( hang in there, there is sunshine after rain.

Can you check her ears, mouth (check the slit at the roof of her mouth), check her eyes for bubbles and drainage. Anything in her nose?

We’re in London UK. The weather here is miserable: cold and wet. No sign of injury or a sting. Nostrils and mouth all clear. Breathing ok.

Here are photos from just now
