Okay, he could be as old as almost 3 days, I had a long hatch that started Tuesday morning and ended this morning.

He can't move one of his legs and it's swollen (might not be very noticeable on camera, but it's about twice as big as normal and a tinge red). It can't bend at all and he can't curl his toes on that foot.

A vet is *not* an option here. He either is culled or helped enough to be comfortable and still live a regular chicken life if not completely healed.

Everyone was fine about 3 hours ago, went to check in on the newest ones in the group and I saw him sitting back on his butt. He tries to move, but obvious it's hard when he can't bend one leg at all.

He's a mosaic if that helps at all, and no, not positive he's a he.

Can you try to see if a small hair or string could have become wrapped around the chick’s leg and cut off circulation? Have you given any riboflavin or b vitamins yet? If not I would use some orally. It can be hard sometimes to tell a slipped tendon from a leg bone deformity or injury. Can you possibly get another picture of her standing at eye level? Slipped tendon is rarely susccessfully treated but here is some infor about how it is done:

Starting at post 12 in this thread read this one as well:

Thanks! I did check, nothing is cutting off circulation on the outside. We did have one that got stuck briefly in the floor of the incubator, we're wondering if that's this one. But that was 2 days ago, so we're not sure why it would have taken so long if it is

Here's some more pictures. He's walking more, but it's still obvious which one he is when watching

The first is when he started to lose his balance and had to readjust himself, the second is when he's just standing

So we think he's getting better. We've decided to let him run his course, he's currently moving quite a lot and we've decided as long as he's moving and not crying that we won't cull him. He's got like a blister though recently. Should we leave it or pop it?

When he stands, his foot is in the air, and when he's resting it's against the ground.
