Under my silkie roo's vent it is way swollen and I did a double take since it looked like a testicle. Now that I've come to my senses, I'm scared for him. What could this be from?

What can I do? He's acting normal, is this normal?

Texas Star, I'm not an expert by any means.
Not sure what that would be.
If I'm not mistaken, the testicles are not under the vent, so I don't think that's what it is.
You probably want to post pictures to help the more experienced people help you.
Also give specifics about his environment, age and diet.
Good luck!

thank you for the response, I am going to take some pics right now and see if DH will hold the little guy still.

He is about 5 weeks old and he is just on starter and whatever else he can get from outside.

I think his system may be backed up.

Here are the pics, they really don't show how swollen the sac is below the vent.

Please if anyone has any advice, let me know. My husband seems to think it's a tumor, but this guy is so young.

Can chickens get hernias? Maybe it is the chicken version of an inguinal hernia? Or, maybe it is an infection. I think it needs to be looked at. Keep us posted!

does the swelling feel hot?
is it hard? or soft and squishy?

is he having usual droppings?
please describe color and consistency.

Thanks for replying Sammi, the lump feels squishy and when I press on it, his vent starts to move. It doesn't feel hot, and he is pooping brownish greenish and he doesn't seem any different.
