I went to the Dr last Tues to have some lumps checked on my neck, one right behind my ear the other right at my hair line. Was told they were lymph nodes and hoped it was due to an infection. She did say I had quite a bit of fluid behind my ear so she thought I had an ear infection comeing on. Gave me antibodics and made an appointment to come back in 2 weeks. I've almost finished my antibodics and they are smaller but still there. If they are gone by the time my appointment is next week she said to cancel but if they were still there I'd need to come in so she can set up an appointment with someone else. I was really hopeing they would be gone by now......

Praying that they go back to normal size. Perhaps it is a good sign that they seem smaller since you have been taking antibiotics.

Sometimes once lymph nodes become swollen they never "disappear". My daughter had mono and we were told that her nodes would always feel like little pebbles in her neck. Its true. 3.5 years later they are still there. So there is hope that your antibiotic did the trick.

I had a blown up lymph node in my neck and it took almost a year to go back down to size. And it's still the first one to blow up again whenever I start to get sick.

I had mono at 16 and my lymph nodes in my neck were HUGE

! I have one on my right side that is always the size of a pea, has been for the past 16 years.

Smaller is good! It means your antibiotic is working. They can take forever to go back to normal size.

PP, I am going through the same thing right now. I've been to the Doc for three weeks straight. The first time I had a shot, second week antibiotics, and the third antibiotics and predinsone. My lymph nodes are swollen, sounds like pretty much the same place, also from an ear infection, but I am also having UTI/Kidney problems at the same time. I'm just not getting better even after all of the meds. I'm giving it a few more days, but if I don't see a big change I am demanding to be referred to a specialist. I'm getting scared! I hope you get well soon!!

eww I hate to hear that!! I'll keep you in my prayers. I go back next wed if they are still swelled, She's supposed to send me to a specialist if their not any better. I'll let you know what she says and who she sends me to if I have to go but I'm hopeing they'll be back to normal size and I don't have to go.
