swollen "spur" area on female hen

I've no idea if I am saying this right, I believe it's the area where a spur grows on a roo but not 100% sure on that. my hen has one "spur" that looks swollen but not red in any way. she's never had this before and it's def a hen, she's 1.5 years old. any ideas on what could be the cause?

Most likely it is a spur lol. One of my Barred Rock hens has small spurs, one on each leg, they are soft to the touch right now. I guess they'll harden over time, not sure. She continues to lay eggs faithfully each day. Nothing to worry about.
