Swollen tongue. Cant eat or drink. Whats wrong?

I've been watering her with a syringe and she has gotten anti-inflammatory drugs. Her tongue is now black but she is active and vocal
Has the swelling gone down? Pictures would be good when you have the chance. Does her beak seem more back in place or does it seem like the first picture? Sometimes chickens get hairs or string wrapped around the tongue, and it cannbe swallowed. I hope you can figure out what happened.

Update on my girl. She had a feed sack string wrapped around tongue and bottom half of her beak. It was removed a few days ago but the tip of her tounge is still swollen and black. She seems to not be able to get food past it. I'm still sirenge feeding her but she can drink on her own. Do yall think part of her tongue is dead? I would like to have a phone call with someone. I have a lavender orphington thats acting strange also. Thank you guys for all the advice

So sorry that her tongue has continued to be black. I would try to keep getting her to eat and drink, but it may be too late to save her. Let us know how she gets along or if you have to put her down.

This has happened to one of mine before. The string was wrapped to tight to remove. I know this sounds terrible, but we cut the extra string off and left the rest. Her tongue fell off due to lack of circulation. She hasn’t had any problems because of it.

Even if the tissue at tip of her tongue is completely dead, she may still be okay. The tissue will either heal or fall off with time. She should still be able to eat crumble mixed with water to a soupy consistency. I think if you’re willing to keep nursing her through it, she could still live a good life.
