Swollen wattles and throat in hen

Hi! 2 days ago we noticed that one of our hens had a swollen face. She appears to be behaving normally, eating and drinking, foraging around. The other chickens all seem fine. I did some research and the only thing I see with swollen wattles as a symptom is chicken cholera but she doesn’t have any other symptoms. I tried giving her some Benadryl as I saw some people had this issue because of stings, but the swelling didn’t go down. Any suggestions? I was considering trying antibiotics but am having trouble finding any for chickens and figuring out dosage if I could. I’ve attached a picture of what she looks like ( 1st pic) and what one of her flock mates looks like for comparison of what she looks like normally.

I am experiencing the same thing with one of my chickens. We think it just started today. Her wattles are discolored, swollen and warm. She also has runny poop and a dirty butt otherwise seems normal.

I got an appointment with a vet tomorrow. I’ll let you know if I find out what it is.

The vet didn't think it was a respiratory disease as the only symptom the hen has is swollen wattles and none of the other chickens are showing signs of sickness. She thinks it might be something like a diveraticulitis (can't remember exactly what she called it). We went home with an anti inflammatory called Meloxicam. She did say she sees chickens every day and is stumped, since the hen is eating, etc. normally so she sent an xray and video to a friend at a state university she knows who solely studies poultry. For, now keeping her isolated unless it is contagious and waiting to hear more.

Sounds like you found a great chicken vet. Hopefully the anti inflammatory meds will help.
