Syringe feeding 6 mo old toulouse

Was gonna bring one of my other geese inside to keep her company but I instead set up a spot next to me in my bed with a medium dog bed lined with a wee wee pads in it if she does make it which I'm hoping we definitely will have a strong bond the first few feedings were hard but I know now she knows I'm trying to save her still runs though I don't blame her shove a feeding aperatus down my throat I'd be running too

So do you think I should add some amox to the feed mix or would that be too much for her system to take and how much 5 lb bird per day?

That is up to you. Sometimes vets will give antibiotics after a blockage to prevent infection. If she is five pounds you would give her 285mg twice a day, orally, it shouldn't be given feed or water.

The dosage I gave you, "57mg per pound" "125mg/kg twice a day" comes from several reliable veterinary sources, including Plumb's veterinary drug handbook, and avian clinical medicine. If you ask, Miss Lydia, and Casportpony, they will give you the same answer because they use the same dosing.

Ok just seems like allot when a full grown human takes 500 twice a day but they are birds and do have fast metabolisms I guess thus. require more antibiotics also do you have any suggestions on food for the other geese I have I have them on writes mixed flock poultry mix I only have 7 geese and one duck it's like they pick out the good stuff and leave a decent amount of waste as for lulu I'm about to give the third feeding of the day she's still a bit shakey not as much as yesterday I guess time will tell so if I don't put the antibiotics in the food or water how do I administer it they are amox 250 mg capsule

If you have a feed store nearby, you could get the following, Mazuri, All Flock feed, or Purina flock raiser. Any one of those would work.

Again, that's your choice if you want to start the amoxicillin. If she appears to be doing well, I wouldn't, but since blockages are often immunosuppressive sometimes antibiotics are granted.

For the amoxicillin, thoroughly mix two pills into 10ml of sterile water, you'll be left with a solution that contains around 50mg per ml. So, if she needs around 285mg, you can draw up 5.7ml, and give it to her PO.

Refer to this link regarding administering oral medications to poultry.
