Faye bit her lip, silencing a laugh at his terrible suggestions about their location. It was a barren desert. There was no way they could tell where they were exactly, with no landmarks.

Reaching into the pocket of her sweatpants, she attempting to grab her phone. However, all she grabbed was a handful of glass, metal, and plastic, the sorry remnants of her phone pouring into the sand.

A stream of horrid obscenities that wouldn't seem like from the rabbit-girl came streaming out, cursing herself and the now broken phone.
She scowled at the ground, pulling her hair into a pony tail, shuddering at how sweaty the back of her neck was.

Ears twitching at his voice, she looked at him, smiling briefly to rid of the scowl on her face. "Yeah, I'm coming." She responded, grabbing her sword and following him.
Jack, still turned in Phaedra’s direction, noticed the pile of plastic, glass, and metal. His eyebrows shot up. “Where did that come from?” He asked, walking nearer to kneel down next to the meager pile. He stuck his hand into the middle of it, then snatched it back as he pricked a finger on some sharp piece of once-phone. He had not discovered his phone in pieces mainly due to the fact that it had fell off his bed after he fell asleep. Even if it had been in one of his many pockets, there was a considerable chance that he would never have thought to look for it. Not like you had reception in a desert.

Returning the gesture of providing them his entire attention, they keenly watched him point to the pack he also had fitted around his chest and the dagger he revealed to them. This reminded Tem of the butterfly knife that was hidden away in the pocket of their seemingly itchy jacket. With the person’s mention of Memphis, Tem hardly batted an eye, as the city had no relevance to them. Hardly giving any sort of response, they brought one of their hands back and rested their index finger and thumb on their chin as they became completely absorbed by thoughts. “Innnnteeeerrressstinggggg.....” they murmured, swaying their body back and forth.

Starting to piece things together, Tem came to the conclusion that the two of them had to have definitely been kidnapped somewhere to put their survival skills to the test. Certainly the last thing they remembered was having dinner with their parents before heading off to bed like any other night. Mom and Dad were just their usual selves... they couldn’t have any involvement with this..

Feeling the unusual flicker of one of their ears, Tem suddenly spun around instinctually and lifted their head up to the trees that towered over the two.

Tem was completely frozen stiff, as if they had seen a ghost. But what they were looking at where the thousands of squirrels that manifested on every limb on every tree that surrounded them and Aros.
(Ah no, the squirrels of doom. Sorry about taking so long to post this, I guess the squirrels must've sedated me. Sorry, it isn't my best but this was the only things that came to my sleep deprived mind and it's also 12:30 a.m.-- I can't see straight XD)
And I'm really guessing ze squirrels are v aggressive and therefore attacking them)

Aros frowned a bit at their lack of having provided any further details, while trying to puzzle out how they both would've ended up in the redwood forest-- He couldn't pin point a time when someone would've had the chance to drug him, and they couldn't have just... Carried him off in the dead of night lacking sedative's, at least without arousing him, right?
He opened his mouth to add something more to the conversation, but froze as Tem whirled around before going rigid. He inhaled sharply, eyes trailing gradually up to where they were looking-- Only to be greeted with the sight of thousands of furry rodents perched upon branches, their beady black eyes sealed to him and Tem.
Squirrels.
Aros whipped about in a circle, but no matter where his eyes laid upon, a rather large troop of the squirrel horde would be right there to mob everywhere his sight reached to.
His jaw went slack, turning his back to Tem's. "Perishing seems like a really great option right now, not gonna lie." He muttered to himself under his breath, eyes darting from one of the small creatures to the next.
Apparently, even quietly talking was not a good option. Or perhaps they just had a problem with sarcasm?
He became quite aware of this when one of the mobs of them, the ones from the tree closest to him and Tem, stormed straight for him; seemingly not acknowledging Tem-- Yet.
Thankfully for him, he currently was lacking a corporeal body and therefore would not acquire any vicious scratches.
However, that did not stop him from launching forwards and practically dancing back and forth in a berserk fashion as a gang of squirrels sprang in circles around him, flinging themselves at his torso and legs-- At velocities he'd never thought possible of common grey and red squirrels-- But only for them to phase through him and appear on his other side with splashes of green light, making his body start to glitch and tear, causing him to become almost see through and blotchy from green bursts, overlaid with static like that of an old television.
So, he proceeded to stop dead in his tracks, his main conscience reverting back into his actual body, his aberration simply standing there dumbly, still glitching, but serving aptly once again as a decoy.
Sucking in a deep breath, Aros surged forward from his real hiding spot in the outcropping, skidding to a halt nearby Tem and yanking his dagger from the deceased jackal's flesh-- Which, as soon as the weapon was removed, disintegrated up into a cloud of scarlet smoke; and leaving behind a foul stench of decay. He blinked, pausing at that, before straightening up and whirling around.
At least he had he dagger back in his physical hand now, and the fraction of the squirrels that were attacking were momentarily preoccupied by his fake self.
For a split second, a curiosity of what Tem would think when they realized they had been speaking to a non-corporeal illusion dawned upon them, but he immediately was wholly consumed with how to go about escaping a swarm of a seemingly infinite number of mad squirrels. "Um, Tem?"

Tem watched on as Aros distracted the ravenous horde of squirrels, intrigued that he was glitching and bugging out like some sort of hologram. No wonder I didn’t pick up any sort of scent from him... However they knew they couldn’t just wait around and sightsee. Once the gig was up, the squirrels would reset their sights on them.

This is totally payback from all those times I chased around the neighborhood squirrels.

Tem almost immediately turned tail and darted off once a second Aros emerged from behind some rocky ridge formation. “Come on!” they called out urgently, taking the lead in their escape. It would have been beneficial for Tem to run upright alongside Aros, but they were keen on losing the squirrels, even if it meant their new ‘buddy’ had to trail behind. Running on all fours allowed Tem to transcend the landscape more freely and navigate through tight areas, all the while with one flip flop on their foot.

That’s when they suddenly halted to a stop, kicking up dirt and debris before almost nearly catapulting themself into the river that carved its way through the woodland. There was no way this river was here before. In fact—there was no way this river could have existed less than a minute ago.

I would have heard it... I would have heard the water...

Tem pinned back their ears and shouted curse words out into the sky as they threw their hands up in sheer displeasure. After their outburst they crouched down along the bank and furiously glared at the flowing crystal clear water in front of them. Their tail started to flick back and forth anxiously “There’s no way I’m getting across this, just leave me for dead.” They renounced in defeat mostly to themself but to Aros as well if he’d managed to catch up. If there wasn’t anything that hated Tem most in the world besides being picked up, was diabolical water.

She glanced at Evan not wanting to disturb him she did a silent happy dance, finding money meant there must be some purpose for it. She jumped up and down and looked at how many there were. A handful, eight to be exact, that meant four for her and four for Evan. She placed four next to him and pocketed her four
Getting the short rest that Evan well deserved, he sat himself up and rubbed his eyes to take in the new ocean view that was laid out in front of him. His hand unintentionally swepted over the coins Lyra set beside him and reacted by recoiling his hand in alarm. Identifying it was just some simple metallic coins, he rested his hand back down onto the sand. “Where.. did these come from?” he asked softly, lifting his gaze up towards Lyra.

“They came while you were asleep” she explained “I found them, they washed up so I split them between us. Four for me, four for you”. She held out her four to show him that she had four too, Lyra grinned “this must mean somehow we can spend these”

(Ahh yeah I forgot lol)

Nina held out her palm, and sure enough, there it was: a bold black tattoo stating "56," right in the center of her left palm. She leaned over to peak at his tattoo for a moment before returning to stare at her own, giving it a slight rub. It remained intact.

"Weird..." she muttered, looking one last time before shoving her hands in her pockets. "But then, what isn't weird right now?" Sighing, she stared at the passers-by for a moment before shrugging. "Well, here goes nothing."

She stepped forward as confidently as possible, directly into the path of a short, bearded, middle-aged man. Smiling, she opened her mouth to speak, but he just turned and walked around her. Even though she knew there was something off about these people, it still kinda hurt.

"Ouch, okay then," she huffed, attempting to approach a young woman with pale blonde hair, but again, she was ignored. She turned to Damir, frustrated. "Well, it was worth a shot."
Damir watched the young girl trying to interact with the people, wandering the grungey city. But, they seemed disinterested, almost like she was just an obstacle in their path.

After the second try from Nina, he decided that he would give it a try.
He walked in front of a teenager with neon green hair. "Excuse me, we-" But, the teen just walked around him, heading down a dark alleyway, turning a corner, and disappearing from sight.

He walked over to Nina, his own frustration welling. "It doesn't make sense. It's like they're looking right through us..."

Damir scratched the back of his head, thinking about where they could go from there. We need to find someone who'll talk to us... There must be somewhere we can get help...

He looked around, eyes scouring all the buildings in sight. He didn't know exactly what he was looking for, but he was sure he'd know when he saw it.

A small sign, down the dark roads, past some of the towering city buildings, caught his eye. It was dulled by debris, but the illustration below was still visible. It had the picture of a teacup, and a little bird, reading Aromatica Tea.

A tea shop? That might work... Damir thought, turning to Nina. His expression was hard to read, but it was showing a slight hint of hope.

"We should try that shop, down there." He motioned towards the sign. "Maybe they'll talk to us if they think we're going to buy something?" It was ridiculous notion, but it was the only thing that he could think of.

Nina shrugged, peering down the street at the sign. She squinted, barely able to make out the words Aromatica Tea printed in a curling font. I need to get my eyes checked, I've been putting it off for too long, she thought offhandedly, blinking when an unwelcome realization struck her. If I get out of here. Her heart dropped, and she swallowed uncomfortably, her mouth suddenly dry.

Glancing at Damir, she cleared her throat. "If you don't ask, the answer's always no, right?" She stuck her hands into the pockets of her jeans again, rocking back onto her heels. "It's as good an idea as any..." Something small and cold touched her hand, and she trailed off. Grabbing the thing, she brought it to the light; a small, plain silver coin lay in her palm. She stared at it for a second before shaking her head and returning it to her pocket. It was no use questioning the workings of this place anymore, so why bother?
"I guess we might actually be able to buy something now if need be," she noted, starting uncertainly toward the dingy little shop.

(Just to clarify, I forgot to give her a coin for busting out of the room earlier so here it is now lol)

“Could this spriggan creature have a name?” Cassie retorted, no way was she giving her name to a back talking, sarcastic tree creature who was sassing her.
She placed her hands on her hips for added attitude, she looked at the tree creature “well? Do you?” She demanded. Cassie’s eyes narrowed and stared at the Spriggan, she folded her arms then placed them back on her hips and then folded them again. She wasn’t sure what position made her look more menacing and less like a strange demented creature, she settled on her hands on her hips, although maybe if she placed one hand on her hip and jutted her other hip out it might make her appear a little more sassy. Cassie looked at the Spriggan and waited for it to reply

Evan raised a brow and scratched his head in confusion as he observed the coins Lyra flashed at him “Oh.. okay cool..” he murmured, trying to justify coins just magically washing up on the beach, but really this whole experience was something he couldn’t find a reasonable explanation for.

I guess they’ll come in handy for something?

Finally rising to his feet in his pained state and wiping off the sand from his face and clothes, he put his four coins in the bag still strapped across his chest. Evan frowned a little when he saw his aluminum bat was no where in sight, possibly disappearing right with the skeletons. He gazed about, hoping the peaceful white sandy beach would be safe from anymore skeletons or rhino’s. It was definitely almost like a solitary paradise with how calm and bright everything appeared. The waves were anything but turbulent and the palm trees further up the beach swayed slightly in the cool wind.

It’s like we’re in the Bahamas or something.. but wherever or whatever this place is.. can we get home?

Evan turned to Lyra, raising up his right palm with the tattooed 7, “Do you have a number on your hand too? I never had it before I woke up here.”

She frowned and turned her hand over “it would appear I do. I would be killed if I got a tattoo by my mother” she explained. She frowned “wait. That means if I ever get out of here my mother will absolutely kill me”. She folded her arms tightly across her chest, “where do you suppose we are? Like first I was in a rainforest then we were in a desert now we are on a serene beach with money”
