I didn't ask if CNN covered it. I asked if they covered it as a nonpartisan event?

Well they reported that people showed up and what they was saying, guess that would be nonpartisan...

Congratulations guys you made it eight whole pages without getting closed.

I did not attend the T.E.A. parties, if I had known about it sooner (I heard about it this morning on my favorite radio station) I might have gone.

Yep,but CNN did say how most of the other media hardly mentioned the tea partys...
Oh and I do watch my local news channels except FOX...

Ok I went back and watched the video CNN played covering the event. This lady picks a guy with a small child and when he is answering her question she cuts him off and practically yells at him forgetting that she was pretty much right in that childs face. For that she loses all credibility with me for that no matter what she said.

But thats not my only source of info. Local radio, local farmers/ranchers and people, local papers and youtube is a great place to hear people rant about the goverment...ect ect ect

I was unable to attend the local one due to work. My husband went, and unfortunately it was very small, only 20-some people, but it wasn't really advertised, either. So, curious how the other ones went, I turned on the news stations last night. FoxNews had live coverage from tea parties all over the nation. I saw the clip with the CNN news reporter screeching in the babies face. She asked the man why he was here, he started to answer, she interrupted him after 2 sentences and asked how that pertained to taxes, he tried to answer her, but she wouldnt let him, screaming instead at him and inadvertently, the baby. MSNBC mentioned only the tea parties in passing, using derrogatory comments.

So I went back to fox, and I actually fell alseep watching it. There were huge turn outs. The one in DC was sabotaged twice, once by the govt pulling out some obscure rule about another permit that was needed (other than all the permits they were told they needed) and later for a tea bag on the white house lawn. Sounds like the gov't was scared of them LOL.

The one in atlanta GA had over 20,000 people, and I heard a report that one in Des Moines IA had over 10,000. The one in NY I never heard a report for, but it strectched 3 full city blocks, down all the side roads too. The governor of Texas attended one there, and the amount of people shown there in the clip was astronomical. I would like to hear a total estimate of attendees in all the cities, but I bet it blew away the 500,000 fox estimated the day before the event.

I'm not an overly emtional person at all, but watching that coverage I teared up last night out of happiness. This was the first glimmer of hope Ive had for this country in years. America is starting to wake up!!

There's been nothing posted thus far that should close this thread. There's been a couple of nay sayers, but not that much animosity. It's my belief that a judgement can not be formed without knowing both sides of the story, and since I depend on TV news as my source, I watch FOX, CNN, and MSNBC in pretty much equal amounts. I am completely amazed sometimes at the malice and hatred that is spewed by susposedly intelligent people. I also saw the CNN interveiw. If a question is asked it should be allowed to be answered. A lot of reporters are so anxious to say what they think, that they never hear, or don't want to hear the answer to the question they asked. They very best interveiwer is the one who listens

There's an old saying "give em enough rope and they will hang themselves". If the reporter really feels that they are interviewing someone who is either radical, uninformed, or just plain nuts it will be revealed in the answer to the reporters question. The man was doing a good job articulating his point when he began to answer. I would guess that would be why she cut him off. She wanted to "win" the interview.

I just wanted to chime in and say my husband and I went to a great TEA party in Sugar Land, and brought our 2 kids with us.

Sugar Land is a suburb of Houston, and there were thousands in attendace there, and it was peaceful and fun.

My kids learned a lot about the role of government, and they learned that we are not alone in our beliefs...many many thousands of people feel the way we do, and we can do something about it.

There were 16 official TEA Parties in southeast Texas alone (around Houston), and even more unofficial gatherings that I passed on the way! Great turnouts everywhere.

We really wanted to go to the HUGE Party in San Antonio, but hubby couldn't get off work early enough to make the 2 hour trip.

I also agree with previous posters about this being bi-partisan...we are upset about growing government spending and control, on BOTH sides of the aisle!

The one in ABQ was BIG! I enjoyed it alot! I saw a bunch of cool signs and it was an awesome peaceful protest! And I totally agreed with everyone! IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!
