Ta-dah! The first egg!

My husband, who didn’t want chickens, found the first egg today and was so excited. Of course he had me come out to see and sent pictures to all our kids like a new grandparent. He did let me pick it out of the nest and it was so tiny and perfect. It’s our first time raising chickens. They are RIR and almost 19 weeks old. Yippee!

Congratulations! I find it interesting that Husband says he wants to take no part and then he is the excited one when finding the egg! Mine acts the same way! He didn't want chickens and now his mind has been changed! Gotta love them, Husbands and chickens both! Enjoy your birds!

My BO's and GLY's are twenty weeks old and still no eggs...although one of the BO's is doing the egg squat.
