I was wondering if y'all take your table scraps out to the chickens at night after supper or wait until the next morning.

Sometimes we have supper pretty late. When that happens, I've been taking them to them the next morning. If we happen to have it earlier, I'll go ahead and take it out to them, but then the next day I notice some of it hasn't been eaten and ants have already gotten to it.

How long do you leave it out there if it hasn't been eaten?

I'm also thinking about the food possibly drawing a critter's (predator's) attention more if left overnight...what do you think?

if the chooks are asleep you are best to wait till morning as mice and other bugs may have a feast. You never leave the scaps with the chokks to long as the veg or salad may go off and create mould. If they dont eat it within 1 hour take it out.

I wait till morning. So many predators will try and get to that food, so it just really puts your chickens in danger if you feed in the evening.

I wait until morning. If it is after dark the chickens are on the roost, don't need the added smell of table scraps to attract varmits.
