Table Scraps

Uh, don't feed them chicken meat. Not good.

Also, no potato peels, rhubarb, raw beans, onions, or garlic. Feeding them the last two will make your eggs taste like onions or garlic!

Mine love cold watermelon (I live in the hot south), also carrots, cabbage, any greens, almost any type of fruit. They do not seem to be very picky. I have fed them some meat but only in small amounts and nothing greasy. I also assure that they always have plenty of good feed avaliable and lots of clean water. Good luck!

Potatoes are in the nightshade family & are poisonous to chickens.

I shared little tidbits of a turkey sandwich with my (5 weeks old) chicks and they went NUTS for it.

Cooked potato is ok, but mine just ignore the raw peelings that go out to them with the rest of things. On a free range situation, they could care less about things that aren't their favorites so just move on along if they get a pile of bananna peels and onion skins rather than last night's spaghetti. LOL
