my chicken book says no raw potatoes or broccolli. No spicey foods or garlic.

why not chicken meat? it makes me cringe to think of the canabalism lol but is it unhealthy for them?

I feed the potato peelings to the goats and the meat scraps to the dogs. but mine love bread and any thing green or any fruit. They also love BOSS and dry cat food, (which they don't get much of since the cat left home) Ialso feed them leftover grits or oatmeal from breakfast. marrie

Mine love tomatoes. Have been giving them for 2 years now.

A book I read said no raw potato peels but then MIL came over and said they always did (they had 500 chickens) nothing happened so I did and they are fine. I dont give them often just if there is nothing else and they are looking at me with THOSE eyes

I guess its a matter of choice.

Mine had a hotdog tonight. We were cooking out and my son dropped his hotdog....big mistake when the girls are free ranging the hotdog didnt stand a chance.

Well I was going to throw out some overripe bananas but now I read this and I am wondering if the chickens would like them instead and if so will they eat the peels?
