Tacky coop & run contest ****Update: It's time to vote!!!!!***

Awwwww Ya'll didn't have to vote for me, I just wanted to share:)

My pick for That's not that Tacky is a toss up between AccioSarah and MomtoSydandEmma. Actually, I'm quite jealous of both of them.

My 1st pick SunnyDayz I just love the changing table, I can't get it out of my head.

My 2nd has to be clothdiaperingmom

My 3rd is Carriec, I'm totally headed to the dollar store tonight to get some table cloth tarps!

ascorbic You're my Honorable Mention because you started this, and I want to have a whole city just like yours! Well, I have been wanting to remodel my kitchen FOREVER and now, I have permission, so when hubby comes home to no cabinets in the kitchen, and new tacky coops, I can say without guilt that I felt pulled to do it:lol:

I'm also going to have to steel some of the other wonderful ideas on here and build a Tacky Coop Empire!!! You know, my BIL's have been dumping old cars on the back of the property to "fix up" and the junk fridgerators strewn across the woods now can have a new life.

I also might mention that I'm going to get some of the toilets that are dumped in the woods, and they are going in my flower beds for raised pots. We bought this place from a couple in their 90s, and it's been a journey cleaning it up, still a WAYS to go. But now, I can embrace it! Thanks!

Awwwe, you guys are awesome

I'm gonna have to go through all of the posts again... before I vote! So many really cool ideas

I love the hay string and sticks one!

Here is what Ive been working on the past few days. Finally mostly done. Moved my silkies to it tonite.

I used old privacy fence, chicken wire, I even recycled nails out of the fencing, already had screws from another project, framing wood was free...took apart a shelf that FIL had made and put in shed. So free, other then sweat and cursings!
Oh I did have to buy the hasp and hinges, but I had got them a few months ago for something else then never used them.
It aint straight and it aint perfect but Im pretty proud of it.

Here is 1 side and the front has chicken wire. (Please pay no mind to the crap strewn about the yard. I have stuff thrown everywhere because I tore down our falling apart metal shed with large plans of building a very large chicken coop made out of pallets....havent gotten that far yet. But I have pallets all over the back yard)

Here is the back with the door. (And our inspector Oreo) I did some small spacing between the boards for ventilation and sun. Not shown is the other side that has some chicken wire and is more open.

I love HorseGeek101s entry!!! Ya gotta love the hay string, what would we do without it? I suspect you have plenty around because of horses too??? I was at TSC today buying cattle panels and guess what they used to tie them together??? Tons of orange hay string!

clothdiaperingmom, I am once again needing the Depends today. It's Oreo that's really making me laugh - he doesn't know what to make of it. It's a pretty good effort, I think the missing element in most of these projects is the inability to use a saw to get the angles right. You've outdone yourself on this one......

You know, the saw thing...man that had me ticked off!! I had 2 boards left on the side, and I COULD NOT get the angles right. I ended up cutting to short or too long. I just threw them in a stack to use for the next one since I have more wood that I could make another A-frame with.
Next time, I think I will do the sides 1st.

Thanks for the kind words. TY Tannubyky
