Was remembering some of the great food in Northern California that I miss - one place in particular, Fallafel's Drive-In makes the best fallafels I ever had,
and I've had some good ones. Got me thinking about our dinner tonight and aside from Judy's Asian Slaw, some breaded talapia filets and breaded chicken breast filets I'm serving them up with a great dipping sauce. I will have to rewrite the falaffel recipe I have because it is industrial sized but very worth the effort. Enjoy
Mis en place:
1/2 cup tahini paste
juice of one lemon
1/2 cup EVO
1/2 cup greek yoghurt
1 tbls crushed garlic
1 tsp garlic chili paste
1 tsp salt
fresh cracked pepper (to taste)
1/2 cup chopped parsley
1/2 tsp ground cumin
Preparation:
Combine tahini paste and lemon juice, next slowly add in EVO while constantly stirring, then same with the greek yoghurt. Once well combined add other ingredients and stir well - refrigerate and serve over falaffels or as a sauce for breaded fish or chicken portions. Look for my homemade naan and onion/cucumber salad. You could build one heck of a sandwich with all this.
