On bad days, I carry her. Good days ...bad days....she is alive.

Hang in there, @Crazychocolatedog. Poor Omlette is going through quite the ordeal, but she's so lucky to have you. You're doing all you can and a great job at that. Hope she is turning a corner for the better soon. We're all rooting for you and little Omlette. :fl

Oh Crazy Chocolate Dog. So sorry.
My hen, Polly, a Wyandotte, is hanging in there. Only my first to die was lame and I assumed it was unrelated. The second one was just listless and didn’t move around much. She was eating until, almost, the end.
I have hope that Polly will recover. I’m giving them remedy RX, vitamins and yogurt.

thank you. She actually starting walking again....this has happened before so I’m not going to get my hopes up.

Just a little update. This morning the raised bumps were higher and redder. I made a decision,a deep breath,... and took a sterile scalpel and made a little incision. White puss, which was pretty thick ,was inside. I tried to clean out as much as i could and then soaked her feet with Beneddine and warm water. And then used a triple antibiotic cream on her feet and wrapped them in gauze . I dont know if I got every bump, there were several in each foot...and after the white thick puss, there was blood.
Hoping this soothes her and we able get through this. I had some amoxicillin tablets that were 400 mg and I cut them into four pieces and gave her one I will give her another tonight. I am not sure of the doses, I am not a vet, but I had to give her some type of antibiotic and that’s what I had.
Too early for wine....my hands are shaking

Could you post any pictures of the feet now? Amoxicillin dosage is 57 mg per pound twice a day, so I might give her 1/2 tablet twice a day.

I didn’t take pictures....I just had the courage at that moment, and went with it.... but I’m going to grab her later, and resoak and rewrap. Should I soak again and today? Or let her rest ?she did cry out a little when it was squeezed. I don’t think I got every bump either...there was so much blood and pus and I was feeling faint.
thank you for the dosage. They were pills from my dog who passed away....I think they may have expired w years ago but ...I had it.

With bumblefoot, if you put antibiotic ointment on and a bandage it usually does not require soaking. Dressings can be changed every 2-3 days. Is this on the foot that looks like frostbite? Or the other foot? You can buy amoxicillin here for fish and some feed stores may have it as well:

Both feet were exactly the same. The ‘boil” like lesions had ‘cheesey puss’ inside. I did both feet as best I could , with a wet chicken oozing blood and puss....I might have missed a boil, but, unlike Bumblefoot, there wasn’t a ‘core’.
...so, I don’t know what caused this ...no scratch or puncture. She did yell out when the puss was squeezed out, but happily licked some yogurt off my finger...(I kept a spoon of it close by). I tried to do ‘nice” things to her too while all this was going on. ....very stressful for both of us.
‘I Just ran to the store and bought the 250 mg fish amoxicillin ($22 at TS).
in a couple hours, I’ll put a better dressing on it and leave her for her night. I have been placing her in the coop on the perch at night, but I’m sure her tootsies are too sore for the perch.
My coop,is too small to put the kennel in there ....but I keep it in the enclosed, covered dry pen all day so she can see her friends.
Breathe ..breathe.....

Ok...how do I get her to eat a capsule of amoxicillin....I know the easiest most hopeful way is to open it, and sprinkle it on something yummy...but if she doesn’t eat the yummy thing, .or only eats a partial piece....oy
The left over amoxicillin I had was a tablet and she took it form my hand....not taking the capsule. Lol.

How much does she weigh? If you are giving her the whole capsule (250mg) then pull down her wattle to open her beak and pop the capsule in, immediately let loose of the wattle. Usually they will swallow it, but be ready for them to shoot it back out too:)
