Tails Of Golden Feather- A rooster who has survived all odds

Chapter 2
So, apparently, the female chick and I were the only survivors. All the others were born deformed. (NOT GOING INTO THE DETAILS! It made me sick…) So the female chick and I had NOTHING to do.
“Names…”
“What?”
“Well, we don’t have names! I’m trying to think of one for me!” She said, cheerfully, obviously not disturbed by the (gross) deformed chicks who were born dead.
“Good thinking.” Man, this little brooder was so huge!
“Focus.” She said. Did she just read my mind? Uh… no… not even possible.
We both thought.
“Lilith!” She screeched. “I’m Lilith!”
“Cool name.”
“I know! It’s so eggtastic!”
A name suddenly came into my head.
“Sage!” I screeched. “Sage, Sage, I’m Sage!”
“Wow! Great name!”
Even at day two her eyes were still brilliant blue colored. It freaked me out that she had blue eyes and wasn’t blind.
As the light on the Outside began to fade away, Lilith settled down beside me.
“Good night.” She said.
“Good night.” I replied softly. Lilith was asleep immediately, her head pressed on my side.
There in the dark night, I made a vow. I would protect Lilith with every last drop of blood that was running through my body.

NEW CHAPTER!!!

Chapter 3

Lilith was already up when I woke up. I got up, and ate more food. Wait, where was Lilith?
“Up here, Sage.”
“Can you read my mind or something? Wait, where are you?”
“Look up.”
Oh my dear sweet eggs! She was upside down hanging from the netting in the ceiling!
“How in the world did you do that???” I cried. “Get down before you hurt yourself!”
“I taught myself how to do it. And check this out!” She swung upward, and then was able to lay down on the netting!
“What the eggs? Get down from there!”
“Whatever you say.” She smiled, then slowly slipped through the netting and literally drifted down, and landed on her feet without getting hurt.
“Lilith! You could’ve killed yourself!”
“I can teach you how to do it, if you want.”
“I-I’’
“I’ll take that as a yes.” She hooked a small talon on my leg and climbed up the brooder wall using only her talons and beak, climbing over the nests in the brooder wall that the humans gave us, and then making it to the top of the brooder, where fishnets hung over the wooden ceiling. Lilith… oh no… she FELL OFF of the wall! She suddenly wailed.
“Lilith!” I cried, and couldn’t do anything but watch, as my best friend was falling, slowly, crying out for help.

your story! I'll be in the fan club!
Love the fact that one of the birds has blue eyes like my Penny. (BO hen has one blue eye which she is partially blind in, and the other is green of which she can see out of.)
