Chick #1, Barnyard mix, dad was Plymouth Rock age around 5-6 weeks seems huge.
Chick #2, homebred Lavender Orpington/Light Brahma cross. 4 weeks on Saturday. (I know slow to mature).

It is a bit young to tell really. In another few weeks the saddle feathers will begin to show. But, the combs will show more development and color soon, if male.

My first though was male for both bc the combs are rather large for the ages, but they lack color. I've never had an Orp or a Brahma, but of the feathered legged birds I've had, the males seem to have more feathers on their feet...but I've only had a few feathered legged birds.

Thank you! I'll post more when they are bigger. My husband insisted on keeping a Brahma chick from his hen and this was the first to hatch. I hope it's a pullet but will see. The only feathered in my bunch is the Brahma hen.
 
Not going to post the mix chick as 99% sure pullet. It's had no further development of wattles or comb. Here's the Brahma cross, 6 weeks on Sat. Still don't know but it's coloring is very cool.
