Oh! Love the spots on the one in your avatar! Is that a hen? Out of all the hens I had, none had that coloring. Lovely!

Hi Asher!

Also glad to see another Aussie parent. We got into this a couple of years ago and were blown off our feet by their personalities, energy, and all-around zest for life.

That's Penelope, who is indeed a hen. We have a few other photos of her on our pages. She was our first hatched Spotted ever, and is still my favorite. She is the quietest and gentlest duck of our flock, and likes to come over to me when I'm out in the yard, when she'll settle in and take a nap.

How many do you have? For some reason, we can't see any photos on your BYC pages.

James ~ I just have a quad right now (and one duckling and eggs in the incubator). I had 12 originally and they were all lovely, but all of my hens were mostly solid, definitely not lovely spots like that. I really like that spotted girl.

Anyway, I didn't feel that I had enough space to properly care for and give enough room for 12 so we kept the 4 that we were most attached to.

If I get many ducklings hatching out this year, we'll be making a bigger pen, I think.
