Hi there, a friend offered a chance to catch a gander from her beautiful flock and I’ve got a few question. 1. Am I breaking the ganders heart by pulling it away from its flock? I’d be giving it a better home more protection and 3 girlfriends. 2. How am I supposed to know it’s a gander? Just hope for the best looking for longer necks and not as low hanging bellies? Do ganders act any differently in a flock when it ain’t breeding season? Thanks

Ganders typically look more “masculine” in the same way human men do-taller, leaner, more muscular, with less of a “sweet” face than the female geese.
But they also just have an overall more upright posture and typically curve their long necks while female geese keep them straight.

Am I going to be breaking it's heart?

I think this question belongs in the goose Forum, I don’t know.
