Taking a tumble is most inconvenient

I'm a mom too, so I understand you there. I don't think I could wear a brace right now either. But, this is causing me issues with simple things like trying to do the laundry or clean up the house. Anything weighing more than 5lbs seems to give me grief. Normally I can pick up things up to 100lbs without too much trouble.

Hi asprin is not good if you have bruising as it thins the blood and makes bruises worse, paracetamol or ibuprofen are better.
Connie please get your hand checked as my son hurt his in a similar accident and the doctor said if it had'nt been treated it could cause permanent disability, as he had broken a small bone in his hand.If you realy can't afford treatment get one of those wrist protectors the kids use when they skate board and wear it for about 6 weeks

My father had a similar injury (not roller skating, but we would all pay money to see him try it!) and he didn't get a cast. This was more than 5 years ago and he still has problems with it. The doctor gave him a brace, which he then took off here and there because he "needed" to do this or that and banged his arm around unintentionally (dufus!). I wish we could have told his doctor that he needed a cast because he is not mature enough to just have a brace

He needed to have his silly arm immobilized.

If it's a fracture, it can give you trouble forever. If you have insurance or $ I think you should go and get it checked. You would take your kids in for it, you are worth just as much

i got the insurance i just dont have the time. I think my DD has one of those wrist thingys otherwise i could call DH and see if he has something, i know we have aknee brace somewhere. But its already four weeks old. I think the bone that hurts is called navicular.

The best thing I have ever found for pain and swelling is Advil Liquigells. They work very fast, because they are liquid, and are much better than just ibuprofen as I learned when I recently sprained my ankle. They quickly eased the pain and reduced the swelling. Please give them a try.
