im so frustrated, my son was told by a neighbor stuff and came yelling at me about our chickens

he said my grandkids cannot handle the chickens or they will not lay eggs

all chickens have fleas that are deadly to children

i cannot watch or spend time with my chickens or they will not lay eggs

i have 24 chickens, 7 are babies that my grandkids picked out

out of the chickens i have i only had 3 layers but i got 6 more layers yesterday that are supposed to be layers, today so far i got 3 eggs, i am patient and can wait for the others to start laying, i know this takes time and they will lay when they are ready or old enough, my chickens are between 2 months and 2 years.

i love going out and spending time with my chickens, they are the cutest thing and i swear they talk to me,lol.

thank you for your feed back, i live in tucson az

The ignorance. You know the truth is that chickens are lovable critters and love being held and cuddled. If anything, that should make them more content and more relaxed so they will lay well.

As for fleas, I suppose chickens could pick up fleas as well as mites and lice, but it's doubtful they would kill any child unless the fleas were carrying some type of virus.
