taking down the alpha hen

How long do you have to remove a agressive hen in order to reintroduce her to the run? I only have 3, but the 2 original gals rule with a mean streak, and I'd like to get the flock to 5-6, but they intimidate the new girls p[retty bad, and one never lets up.

When I had to do that I pulled out the alpha hen for a week, before putting her back. It worked.

When one of mine gets sassy, (one or 2 have the tendency) I grab them up as soon as I walk in the run, and carry them around for a while.
The others are getting treats, and sometimes they peck her once I put her down. It's like "ha ha you were in a time out"

I guess I'll have to do the same with mine. I have one aggressive EE hen that likes to pick on my RIR. Whenever I go into the run the RIR hides behind me the poor thing.
