I keep seeing people state that late hatchers tend to have health problems and deformities. I can't find any documented evidence, so I'd like to hear your stories.

I have no idea if mine was because of the late hatch.

She had a rough beginning, taken from her mother at 11 days to be put in my incubator. Her sibling hatched day 20, a perfect chick. She pipped day 22 and hatched day 23.

The yolk still wasn't fully absorbed. She had curled feet, a misplaced tendon and splay leg. One wing was tiny and nearly paralyzed, canted forward toward her chest. She died when she was two days old.

If you have actual experience with late hatchers being damaged, I'd like to hear your stories. At the moment, since I can't find any documentation, I have to assume it's general gossip.

well i have done hatches with coturnix quail and all if mine hatched good but the two that hatched way later had wry neck i was luckily able to fix in one but the other sadly passed
