i used to live in pompano beach, so i know about hurricanes... thanksWormGuard Plus contains DE and other contents which are ineffective in treating worms.
Go to TSC and buy Equimax horse paste for $12.99 and worm your birds.
I've dealt with tapeworms and know how to treat them.
Here are a few pics of two Black Stars caged in the garage that were infected with tapeworms. In one pic you can see the segments on the paper (39.99) pointed out with toothpicks.
Then in the other pic shows treatment using praziquantel in the horse wormer, you can see where the tapeworm was excreted by one of the hens in the cage. You can see the toothpick pointing at the long tapeworm strands that were inside the hen.
When birds are infected with tapeworms, it's best to systematically follow your birds around in the yard first thing in the mornings after you let them out of the coop and watch each bird take apoop. Make a note which birds' poop has segments in it, then isolate the infected birds and treat them accordingly. Depending on how many birds you have, it might take 2 or 3 days to find out which birds are infected. Make sure you do it when you first let your birds out in the mornings. Out of 24 birds, I've had as many as 5 or 6 caged at once treating them for tapeworms. And yes, I have the cages, also for hurricane evacuation.
