Karen is a 3 year old ISA brown. She has always had mostly wet poops, with solid normal poops mixed in. No other birds in my flock of 6 have ever had this similarity. She recently had an impacted crop that took about a week of TLC, electrolytes, probiotics, massages, and worrying to clear up, and now Im paying super close attention to her.

I clean their coop of poop every morning. This morning I found these.
Question 1 - is that tapeworm?
Question 2 - i have safeguard for goats. Should i use that, or should i pick up equimax equine paste? Thanks!

Do you see anything moving?

I see what looks like polished oyster shell bits in the poop which would be normal. Not sure what the larger white material is, perhaps it's something she ate. I don't see any Tapeworm Proglottids, but will tag in @dawg53 for his input.

For treatment of Tapeworms, use Praziquantel. Equimax Horse Paste can be found at stores like TSC or online. Dosing is for Equimax is 0.33ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeated in 10days.

Safeguard Liquid Goat Dewormer (Fenbendazole) will treat other worms like Cecal worms, Roundworms, Capillary, Gapeworms, etc.

What Tapeworm Proglottids look like:

I magnified your photos. It may or may not be a tapeworm segment (Proglottid.)
Segments are always slowly moving and if you saw the segment moving, give her the Equimax as directed by @Wyorp Rock.
Give the Equimax prior to feeding her early in the morning. Since Karen wont be fed, the tapeworms will be at their weakest making them more susceptible to the wormer and will kill them.
Then wait 3 hours before you feed her.
If in fact it's tapeworms, you might see tapeworm pieces or segments excreted in feces within 30 minutes of dosing. Insects are the vector for tapeworm infections.

Appreciate the replies! Feed store was out of equimax but had the feline dewormer with 23mg of praziquantel so i grabbed that. She's a smidge over 5 pounds so I reckon ill entice her to eat one of them. Thanks for your insight.

I did not observe movement of what I believe to be tapework segments. Cant hurt to give her a dose after 3 years of no deworming, eh?

Another equine wormer you couldve purchased that works well against tapeworms is Zimecterin Gold horse paste, if it was in stock.

No, dont give her the praziquantel unless you see actually see segments in her feces.
However, it's a different story with roundworms. There are several types of roundworms that chickens can get. In this case, it would be best to worm all your birds with either Safeguard liquid goat wormer or Valbazen liquid cattle/sheep wormer. Praziquantel will not treat roundworms which are more common in poultry.
You can use the search box for dosages of either product if you decide to purchase either.
