I have a wheezy chicken who was pretty bad at one point but after a lot of nebulizing and some Tylan (mostly orally) she is a mild wheezer. Took her to the vet and they said she was on the thin side / got her some antibiotics for the wheeze - my girls have free choice layer feed at all times so it’s not a food issue. I asked them to run a fecal and she has tapeworms.

They said fenben, but I also have Valbazen which seems to be preferred according to the internet and posts here.

What sayeth the experts? I have 13 together and then eight pullets (not integrated yet) and two ducks. So whatever has the fewest doses, is most effective, and I don’t care about egg w/d length.

Oh, and they were going to charge me $250 for a virus test but surely there’s something cheaper just for MG…going to look around but will happily take recos.

Thanks!

You should get something with praziquantel. That is the best drug for tapeworms. It comes in tablets called tapeworm tablets on Chewy, Droncit or Drontal tablets from a vet, but Equimax horse paste and Zimectein Gold both contain praziquantel. Dosage of Equimax is 0.16 ml for a 5 pound chicken given once orally and again in 14 days. Zimectrin Gold dosage is 0.3 ml for a 5 pound chicken and repeat in 14 days.
