Tastiest broilers?

I love the slow growers that free range. I usually do RIR or Barred Rocks also

Slow smoked meat.................................. or BBQ.
I think what you are going to feed them makes a big difference. I know store bought ( don't matter free range or not) eggs made me sick, ours I can't get enough of them. Now I can't remember what store bought chicken meat tastes like.
 
I think age plays a big role in taste.
So, I will agree that a slower growing(older)chicken will taste different and yes they will be tougher.Depending on what you consider tasty.I prefer a tender young bird.Anything else is soup.
