Tatanka Breeders Club: Meat Quail project with history, discussion, pictures and videos

we have a few up and comers growing out from our last project hatch, will give them some time to get their egg size up to par, 14+ grams or its the crockpot for them...

will be keeping 27+ hens and 6-8 of my biggest roos for the fall season. I owe heritage farms (eli) some stock and I owe frankallen another round of bigguns.

this fall/winter should be very promising,we have enough tatanka breeders all over the US to plan an egg swap and hatch-off.

Should have a good number of new up & coming Hens up to standards here by fall, my original 6 split hens are still cranking out 14+g eggs here pretty consistently even with the 100 degree heat that we have now. Working on my 5th hatch of the summer now, getting some keepers that meet standards out of each hatch ! Ready to rock & roll here

just wanted to post on here that i had a weird thing happen to me last night while searching videos on youtube for big quail. i came across mobyquail channel and watched all the videos, then this morning i come on here and the first thread i see is this thread which i have never seen before and read the entire thing and had my mind blown on how the big birds i saw on the videos were produced. great job mobyquail i will be following this thread and learning how to do things right. this threads is now making me want to run out a get a scale and see where my ebay quail stand. hopefully in the near future i can get my hands on some tatankas and work with them here in AZ.

thats awesome! i like the dark colors ones to. i had an egg in a batch that bought that was completely dark brown on the top half white on the bottom half and it almost looked like someone painted on it. unfortunately it was one of the ones that didnt hatch.
