Tatanka Breeders Club: Meat Quail project with history, discussion, pictures and videos

Here's the batch that was hatched on 11/26/14 which were 31 days old yesterday. Kinda of a non scheduled weigh in for these as we normally try to weigh at 28 & then 42 days so I'd say we are are looking for weights somewhere around 230-340g's. This batch also had a high number of males which the vast majority will not be needed & will be headed to freezer camp promptly.

Here's the weights on the 12/6/14 hatch which makes them 21 days old yesterday. At 21 days we are looking for 130+g's. These were also moved outdoors yesterday.

Weighed the birds hatched on 12/18/14 last night making them 20 days old (15-Browns/4-White). Looking for 130+ @ 21 days old, photos to follow later.

Next batch to lock-down this evening, trying to get my breeder pens filled this winter with birds that meet the standards. Getting some nice Tatanka keepers out of each hatch !
 
Nice white bird ! I was out looking at my Tatanka's that iv'e hatched so far this year & looking at the 11/26 hatch I see that we have one hen that has a few white feathers on her wing. A rare occurrence you don't see often with the Tatanka line & a bird which we will be keeping a close eye on. Also the few keeper 11/6 hens are really laying some nice size eggs from the get go. Can't wait to pair up this years keepers & see what we come up with !
