Tattoos.. Question for artist or the person who got one..

Well so far mine is 5 days old and barley scabing or peeling.. The outline didnt hurt at all.. Its when he went to do the shading on my scars, thats when I had him stop. I was under the needle for 3 hours.. Nope it didnt numb after half an hour.. It takes up half of my back. And goes below my pant line.

Yes pausing does help some.

Oragel Maximum Relief, Baby!!

I got my nose pierced in the 80s in NYC and had a really hard time with it...worse than when I had either of my daughters. Weird, right?

Anyway, the only way to deal w/ the ache was to dab a bit of max strength Oragel on it. Just look for the percentage of Benzocaine in there to be the highest of all the tubes- brand doesn't matter. It's safe for before and after the tat, but not DURING.

None of my art hurt me, so I'm not sure how well it will work, but it's certainly less depth than a cartilage piercing before piercings were cool, so I'm guessing it will help.

You'll have to post a pic of your ink when it's done.

Well this is what the tat is going to look like.. Basically. We slightly changed a few small things.. Oh and the dragon is going to be green instead of white..

That is incredible!!

Thank you..
He is going to try to get it to look like the pic, as much as he can. But that is a painting.. So will have more detail than the tat.

Well My tat artist wont be able to do any more work on it until next month or very late this month. It was hot the other day, and I sat in the car to long.. I got a heat rash on my back. So now I cant get my tat worked on until it goes away.. We are going to do it in two more sessions. Because we can only get so much done before he gets tired. Because we cant start on it until I put my kids to bed for the night. Then I am free to go and get my tat worked on..

I just found out that Oragel cant be used.. It has a more oily base to it.. Can make the needle slip. I found out it is best to use some thing with Lidacaine in it.. I dont need it for after the tat.. By the next day I barely remember it is there, except for the itching... Grr. I hate the itching... But the reason Im asking on here what the best tat numbing cream is.. Here in Oregon, I have been told, it is illegal for the tat shops to sell or use the numbing stuff.. But they cant do any thing if you go and buy it, and use it before you show up. I was going to buy my own and be slightly numb in the tender spots.. Which is them lovely love handle area that has stretch marks..LOL.. If I would have known the stretch marks hurt so bad. I would have go the tat before I had kids.... There is at least 6 types of tat numb cream that I have found. But I dont know which is the best.. If I cant find the cream soon. I will just have him work on the upper portion of the tat next trip.. The spine area dont even hurt compared to them darn scars..

Couldn't you put the numbing cream on first for a little bit to let it numb, then wash it off before starting the tattoo? Something else you could try is regular old liniment. That stuff is wonderfully numbing, and you can wash it off and still feel the effects!
