Tattoo's - show off your art work..

There are only two people that I trust to tattoo me and one has since retired. My artists are the only licensed ones in my county, but are the best in a 3 county region. The shop has a $60 minimum, so even a quarter size piece will cost you $60. After that, it is $125 an hour. Only one of my tattoos have taken less than 2 hours, and I am actually up to 7.5 hours on one of them and it isn't done yet. My artist does give me a break in hourly pricing because hubby and I are there so much getting work done. (We have 6 tattoos each). My artist does not charge extra to draw anything and all of mine and hubbys are hand drawn, one of a kind pieces.

You want to look at pictures of their work and talk to anyone in the shop that has had work done by that person before. The shop should be immaculately clean, use one time use needles, have an autoclave on site, wear gloves, etc. If you walk in and immediately get a bad feeling, turn right around and walk back out!

Tee hee... maybe it's like that old saying... lamb in the kitchen, lion in the boudoir?

Just curious but tons of people have asked me "Does it hurt?" ... am I the only one here who thinks that the worst (that'd be the outlining IMO) at its worst felt like scratching a sunburn??

I thought it felt worst of any I have.... and had to zone out and visit my happy place for a while... and yes the line work is usually the worst part. A fresh, hot sunburn... yeah that about sums it up!

I also have the "tramp stamp", but dont have a photo of it- Native American theme. And I have one on my er, chest that obviously I cant post.

I am currently having this put on my back on the other side of my angel. It is half done. Its a large piece that is requiring 2 sittings. I'll post a photo when its finished

Well, child birth was more painful. Piercing my ears hurt. I'll never do either of those again, but I'll get more tattoos.

MY ankle on HURT! but that was on bone because I wanted it lower, to my sock line.

My arm didn't hurt much until he went back over to highlight. But by then I'd been sitting there being marked on for like 2 hours.

The ole tramp stamp didn't hurt but I got queasy. I hadn't eaten that day and he said that I was holding my breath and actually more like almost passed out.

My husband said when he got his back lettered that REALLY hurt. But then, he doesn't have much padding.

This is on my left side right above my hip area.

Thinking of getting a rose tattoo up my right side and a ford mustang on my back between my shoulder blades not sure yet on where exactly yet.

That's what it boils down to mostly. Padding. Along the spine is going to hurt like hades in comparison to the bicep... which is why most guys (notorious for having a lower pain threshold) usually get them there. None of mine were bad... I sang along to the radio through them. Did have some weirdness on the hip one though. I could have sworn he was working on the part at the bottom, halfway down my thigh and instead he was right next to my hipbone... how weird is THAT?! Goofy nerve endings I guess?
