Tea Cup Pigs.....anyone have any info?

Our pot belly, promised not to get over 50 pounds is less than a year old and we stopped weighing her once she hit 90 pounds around the time she got pregnant. However the dad to her babies, also living in our backyard on the same diet, from the same breeder, who was 7 months older than her was half her size. He was around 45-50 pounds when we butchered him. Yes, she's short, less than knee high, but she is HEAVY. We researched and knew going in she may eventually get around 400 pounds. We definitely didn't ration her food and actually let her get overweight. Now that her babies have been born she is on a diet and is slimming up. Just know that the piglet you get will be 10 times that size or more in a year. Their growth slows down around a year old, but some say they don't stop growing until 4-6 years. There are some really small adult pigs. The problem is it doesn't breed true. While tiny pig parents may be more likely to birth more tiny pigs, they can also throw out the 400 pounders. You never know if the parents were just stunted by limiting food or if they are just small. Many breeders give you a feeding schedule and amount to stick to, and if you don't they will not guarantee the pig will stay small. We've had a lot of people that want one of our piglets and I've told them all they may stay on the smaller side or they may get huge. Here's a picture of Pearl the pig, she was 5 weeks old in August and is under 1 year old.

Edit: So sorry, I didn't realize this was a revived 5 year old thread.
