Tea Time.... Relax with us and have a cup of hot tea!

Publix is a southern grocery chain.
I know what you mean about green tea. I keep mixing it with other things trying to use up what I have, but... ehh.
It is supposed to be so good for you too.
And I have a tea plant... so, I guess it won't get the use I expected it to.

How neat that you have a tea plant! I don't suppose it would survive our harsh weather here. I guess you'll have to let it mature and dry, then make a nice cup of black tea for yourself.

I didn't used to be a green tea fan either, but I have found a couple that I like. I can do Mighty Leaf's green teas and Lipton makes good ones that are green tea and fruit. I like the Green Tea Pomegranate. The fruit blending softens the harshness of the green tea, but you still get all the benefits of it.

Mighty Leaf's tea sachets can go in the compost pile too. Tea Chick - which flavor did you buy?

I read that ya have to taste it every one minute as you're steeping it for the first (maybe few) time(s). Then you can nail down how long you like your green tea steeped. I think I've been steeping it too long, so I'm going to try that next time.
I like pomegranate, so I might try that.

That's fantastic! I'll do that from now on! I got their organic black iced tea. It's not a particular flavor. I thought I would start with something plain to see whether I liked theirs or not and then go on from there.

Thanks! I am longing for English lab. Orps. forever.
I had this delicious chamomile spearmint tea. It's my thing now, along with black tea.
I tried fruit and other herbs mixed in w green tea. I guess I just can't stand it.
I too feel like spending more for good quality black tea. I just love it.
I'm giving my rooibos/marigold to a friend today. I like rooibos better by itself.
I too like the fact that I can compost the bag. I am happy that now I generate very little garbage. I either compost, reuse or recycle. I'm still amazed by the amount of garbage my family generated a few years ago.
I'll look into publix. It's a website for different brands of tea, right? Pardon my ignorance.
DH just resigned to the fact that I love chickens and 6 aren't enough:) But I'm extra careful to make sure the birds are comfortable before I add more. And sometimes my over thinking can get in the way.

I like the lavender Orps. They're beautiful! I like blue chickens too.
I have spearmint in my garden, and I have more than I use. I keep forgetting to put it in my teas.
Publix is a grocery store in the south, like Albertson's or A&P or ??? IDK what grocery stores you have up there. I should, I married a yankee. Sorry.
It took time for my DH to resign himself to the fact that I like chickens too, but he enjoys that I enjoy them so much.

Oh, ok! I was way off then :) Here we have A&P in the lower Hudson Valley and also a chain named Price Chopper in the mid Hudson Valley. Speaking of that, I found Mighty Leaf on sale at a Price Chopper today. What a coincidence.
I am drying my mint before frost. I use it for cooking and tea. I bet the temps down south are still wonderfully warm. I am not looking forward to the cold weather.

Hot. We call it hot.
And humid and as my husband says, "another day of 90 by nine."

I know you guys down south suffer from the hot and humid days, but winters here are so frigid that I dream of having a house there just to spend my winters. I.feel cold to the bones here, no matter how bundled up I am. You crank up the heat and the air is so dry you can't breathe. Humidifiers all over the place. Driving is a mess sometimes. I dream of spring every single winter day. I cup of hot tea in the morning brings me a lot of comfort. (just to stay on topic:)

It gets below 80 and I am freezing.
I want to be Northern for the fruit trees an summer gardens, but I would have to be what we call a snow bird, and come back down for winter.
Fall might be nice though. I might stick around for a fall. apples....

Fall here is beautiful, but the beauty only lasts for 2 weeks. After that, it's windy and the trees start losing all their leaves. Brrrrr!

IDK as I would describe them as "wonderful", but we are down below 100* for more than a week. Hopefully, we've seen the last of triple digit temps for the year!

DH and I were talking about how bad last winter was. He said the Farmer's Almanac says this winter is going to be much colder than usual (much more so in the South than anywhere else in the country) and it's also going to be much wetter than usual.
Did someone write and invite the Polar Vortex back or something????

I feel ya!

I'm super busy with school for the next few weeks (midterms always seem to run into finals somehow, and I turn my work in on time, so that's not it).
Anyway, you all please PM me, so I don't lose track of you!!! My PMs are sent to my email, which my phone tells me about. It feels so weird to talk about my phone like it's my personal assistant (but it kind of is).
