I am learning about genetics slowly... and I am so confused on how to work this. ??? http://kippenjungle.nl/kruising.html I went on it to see what new hampshire x BR would make... is that Delaware?

It looks like the calculator is only for colors. Since it does it by genotype (what the genes are) instead of phenotype (the genes that are expressed visibly), you would have to have bred the chickens before to know what the genotype is. You would be able to determine that by how their chicks turn out. I tested it out on white because it looked the easiest. A white chicken crossed with a colored chicken that has the gene for white would result in more colored chicks than white chicks. it showed colored > white. Doing a Punnet Square would probably be easier and simpler to understand. I studied evolutionary genetics in college and that calculator confused me at first but it does show you what is recessive and what is dominant so I'd keep it handy.

You click on the Browse M or browse F to select your specific roo and hen.
then you can manipulate the genes if you know that they have a different gene that his resesive. then click Calculate.
You can look at the pundants square or the genotypes or phenotypes

there is also one for comb types and an addon for leg color.
