I have no doubt there are good teachers out there. My DD is one of the best. The others just think their good.

I have to stick my two sense in. When ever some people here feel their particular profession or a group they feel close to is being questioned/attacked, they instantly call it hear say, question the poster's credibility, or even down right accuse the poster of lieing.

But I have to ask, the same people who question the OP's venting post (and I am not singling this thread out in particular, I am talking about in general because it's a pattern I have seen a few times) and saying it's only one side, how would said people feel if we accused them of hearsay and say it is only one side of the story the next time they vent or share a story?

I agree that this teacher is contributing to a child's sense of automatic gratification and isn't teaching them anything about the hatching process of eggs. She should have educated herself before adding the chick like that. The children are going to be misinformed now because of this teacher's impatience.

I didnt mean to offend anyone. One teacher I am working with is actually hatching. The other told my neighbor she wanted to do the whole thing but didnt think she had the time so she told them she started them at home then Thursday brought the eggs to school then placed a chick in today. Which ok I guess thats ok but if she felt she didnt have time to finish she shouldnt have started and done this in my opinion. Then I end up with a 3 week old bantam that she gave to my neighbor who doesnt have any bantams. Not that I am complaining. She is pretty I just dont know what she is except tiny, and almost fully feathered. I know teachers have a hard job and dont get paid near enough or get credit for the work they do. There are some wonderful teachers. My kids growing up almost all of their teachers I truly loved. I still see them once in awhile and have a great relationship with them. I just felt like if you are going to teach your students something you should teach them right. And as far as putting chicks in as substitute for ones that didnt make it I have no problem with that. Its just the way it was done the whole thing that bothered me.

Maybe SOME people are tired of being attacked at every turn? I haven't seen anyone, SOME, people included, accuse the OP of anything. Can you deny this is a second or third hand account? Have you been in the class to ask the teacher what happened? I'm not saying this teacher was in the right or wrong, I haven't accused the OP of anything. But the blanket statements about teachers really need to stop. How would you feel if I kept saying ALL parents are idiots who don't help their children, are lazy, don't care, etc.?? Hmm?? I don't see threads almost exclusively dedicated to trashing police officers, nurses, doctors, truck drivers,,, do you? SOME would really like to be given a fair shot, and not a shot in the back along with the knife.
